Hello! I’m Kim. I am a homeschooling mom of 3 kids. Books, nature, art, woodworking, and my beautiful family are a few of my passions. I started this blog to document our adventures and hopefully bring a little inspiration to others along the way.
My passion for nature:
As a child I spent much of my time outside with my two sisters. We climbed trees, built forts, jumped in creeks, collected rocks, clovers, and so much more. My best childhood memories are times spent in nature.
When I wanted time alone to reflect I would head to my favorite swing and make up songs that fit my mood.
When I was feeling imaginative, I would create my own play world feeding my baby dolls sawdust from the wooden furniture my dad built in our small backyard shed.
When I needed movement I would play leap frog in the yard with my sisters or explore the woods.
Nature was a wonderful outlet for me as a child and I want that option for my children as well.
My goal is to bring nature into our lives everyday- in our home, in our learning, in our play, in our crafting. Nature is a beautiful and free resource we have been given to enjoy. I plan on making the most of it!
My passion for books, art and hands-on learning.

Over the last 7 years I have read a ton of books on various teaching methods and I am very drawn to
certain aspects of Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Charlotte Mason, nature-based learning and life
schooling. Basically any philosophy that encourages educating the whole child in a fun-hands on way
appeals to me! I also have a passion for good literature. I take every opportunity to display a
related book with our learning and play invitations. Children learn so much more when they are
involved in their own education. Most of our educational activities are based on questions the kids ask
throughout the week. I take their questions as the perfect opportunity to grab a few books from the
library and set up an inviting learning space.
Take your shoes off and stay awhile. You will find craft tutorials, wood-working projects, educational
set-ups, book reviews, home and family discussions and everything in between. Be sure to like our
